Ed, me, Sunny, and Griffin Stone took part in the Bike Fresno Crit last night and had a blast. I know it is complicated and naive to think about, but it would sure be great to have a bi-weekly crit in Fresno. I learned so much just being able to chill with the guys taking some laps and getting pointers. It makes me realize how crazy it is to just show up on race day and race a crit without having it be more comfy and familiar. As an example of one thing I learned, is that after the race I discovered my front brake was rubbing against my wheel. No wonder I had trouble going more than 22 on the straight! Mental note: Always check wheel rotation and brakes before race.
I know there are issues with insurance and crap like that, but I wish crits didn't have to be such a big deal, but just setting out some cones and having someone ring the bell and time us once a week or two . Nobody really cares, in my opinion, about prizes. I would like to just have some kind of web page stats board for records keeping and find a place to run a crit for a few hours a week.

It would have been nice to even know about this. I would've taken my son out there-he is dieing to do a crit and learn. If you here of stuff like this, please post it on the website so we can partake. Who put it on?

My post was about the desire to have bi-weekly or monthly local crits that keep on going through the whole summer and other non-rainy months. I am looking into finding a place to do this and also liability issues.
